General Announcements:
The VOICE-Buffalo core team has been renamed the Social Justice Team. Our
current members include: Bette Brunish, Helen Cryulik, Carol Horvath, Jan Losi, Nancy
Kresge, Maryanne Reigstad, Luke Reigstad, Mary Ann Sheldon and Linda & Philip Siddons. Our next meeting is Monday, February 18 @ 7:00pm and is open to all
Nativity members and friends.

Mark your calendars for the International Feast of Tables taking place on
Saturday, February 16 in the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo from 5:30pm-8:00pm.
There will be an array of different ethnic entrees (French, Italian, Soul andVegetarian are
some of what will be offered) and delicious homemade desserts provided by the member
congregations of VOICE-Buffalo. Nativity will be serving Hungarian cuisine! The cost
is $20.00 per adult, $10.00 per child (5-15) and $50.00 for a family of two adults and
children 5-15. Reservation form is enclosed or see any of our Team members for further information.
This year’s Art Auction will be taking place on Friday, May 9th at Westminster
Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
The Sprawl/Transportation Task Force is continuing its work on forming an advisory group to the GBNRTC (Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation
Council) with the goal of improving transportation for seniors and to and from jobs.
VOICE member congregations along with the Hispanic Pastors Association have
begun collaborating with Mayor Byron Brown and the Buffalo Police Department to
increase police presence on the West Side of Buffalo.
The New York Thruway Alliance will be gathering in Rochester February 12-13
to launch its statewide campaign on Health Care, Local Hiring/Benefit Agreements and
Youth Jobs & Violence Prevention.
Did you know there are 137 democracies in the world? Well, guess where the US
ranks in voter participation? Would you believe 135? 50% of our population is
registered to vote. Only half of that take the time to vote. Which means our current
president was elected by 12.5% of our eligible voters. Are you registered to vote? Do
you vote?
