Confirmation
Our nine month curriculum for youth in Grades 9 and up begins in September and concludes on the first Sunday in May with the Rite of Confirmation. This is the day when the young women and men who have participated in the program choose to speak for themselves and affirm the faith into which they were baptized.
Nativity's confirmation program is taught by the pastors, and classes are on Sundays from 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. This concentrated period of instruction includes worship, church school, confirmation classes, service projects, relationship building, and retreats designed to help participants:
- Learn how people biblically and historically have encountered God in their own lives and how people encounter God in our time;
- Move toward making a commitment to Jesus Christ and open their lives to the influence of the Holy Spirit;
- Move toward becoming responsible members in the Christian church;
- Practice spiritual disciplines such as worship, Bible study, prayer, meditation and service which will help them develop a relationship with God and sustain and deepen their faith commitment.
Call the church office (875-3365) for details on how to enroll in the next Confirmation class.
